One of America's biggest cryptocurrency exchange and wallet service provider, Coinbase which has up-to 30 million users since its launching in 2012, has recorded about eight million new users since last year.
This was revealed by a by Bitcoin investor and entrepreneur, Alistair Milne, in a tweet on July 22.
According to a chart on the tweet, the rate of new users sign ups has slowed compared to the second half of 2017, before Bitcoin price hit its all-time high of $20,000. However, the exchange added about 8 million new users in the past year despite the downtrend on the crypto market. In August 2018, the CEO Brian Armstrong revealed in an interview with Bloomberg that the platform was signing up 50,000 users per day back in 2017.
In November 2017, Coinbase stopped disclosing the precise information on the number of their registered users.
The exchange that was founded in 2012, is one of the popular crypto exchanges globally, with adjusted trading volume of around $350 million according to Coinmarketcap data as at press time.
