246,000 Users Fund Gone In An Exit Scam By Bitsane Exchange

About 246,000 people reportedly loss their money in an exit scam by Ireland-based cryptocurrency exchange Bitsane, Forbes Reported on June 27th 2019.

According to the report, account holders told Forbes that withdrawals of bitcoin, XRP and other cryptocurrencies started failing in May, with emails from Bitsane support team that  withdrawals were “temporarily disabled due to technical reasons.” In June 17, Bitsane’s website was offline with its Twitter and Facebook accounts deleted, and mails to Bitsane official email accounts  were returned as undelivered.

It is believed that the Victims loss hundred thousands USD worthof cryptocurrencies if not Millions in this scam as many people in some chat groups were complaining of the amount they loss particularly on this  Telegram group and in a Facebook group created. In the report, "Forbes spoke with one person in the U.S. who says he had $150,000 worth of XRP and bitcoin stored in Bitsane".

“I was trying to transfer XRP out to bitcoin or cash or anything, and it kept saying ‘temporarily disabled.’ I knew right away there was some kind of problem,” says the user who claims to have lost $150,000 and asked to remain anonymous. “I went back in to try to look at those tickets to see if they were still pending, and you could no longer access Bitsane.”

In a post on June 26th by one of the facebook group member who goes by the name "Shane Sean", gives information about some team members of Bitsane Exchange and where to submit a complaint online.

Lots of exit scam and hacking in the cryptocurrency space has left many people with fear as there is no regulations in the entire system. This year, series of exchange hacks has been recorded. In May Cryptoinformers reported how Cryptopia Exchange went Into Liquidation after a hack of about $16 million worth of cryptocurrency. Also in May, Binance Exchange got Hacked with Over $40 Milli on Worth Of BTC Stolen and host of others.
